Travelers who stumble upon Captiva Island may find themselves captivated. Situated in southwest Florida, north of Sanibel Island on the Gulf of Mexico, this subtropical spot not only boasts white sand beaches, but is also surrounded by wildlife.
Where to stay?
Club Members have a variety of places to stay on the island. In fact, Club Members can reserve at any of Hilton Grand Vacations Club South Seas Island Resort’s six vacation stay options, which include The Cottages, South Seas Club, Plantation House, Plantation Beach Club, Plantation Bay Villas and Harbourview Villas.
Did somebody say “beach”?
When you arrive, head straight for Captiva Beach, which ranks #1 on TripAdvisor for things to do on the island. And why wouldn’t it? The beach faces west, so sunbathers and swimmers alike can enjoy the warmth of the sun all afternoon and stay for the grand finale: an incredible sunset on the Gulf. If your kids enjoy searching for seashells, Captiva Beach boasts plenty of its own shells, but at Turner Beach, they might find larger, more intact seashells.
Explore beyond the beaches to see sandbars at Captiva Pass, or go fishing, shelling and swimming at Redfish Pass. Or, rent a kayak, canoe or boat. If the weather’s great, let the wind choose your destination when you spend the afternoon sailing as part of a tour from one of a variety of companies, like New Moon Sailing, or sign up for lessons with Off Shore Sailing.
