Myrtle Beach is known for its golf scene as much as it is for its beaches. And with good reason—the area is home to more than 100 courses. Not only that, this town is also known as the minigolf capital of the world and boasts more than 50 themed courses.
Which course best fits your style? Check out this guide to find out where you should play.
Where to Play … as a Family
Take the whole family to Tidewater Beach Club (above), where kids under 16 get in for free with a paying adult. Named a must-play Myrtle Beach course by Golf.com, this course also serves up ocean views at the par-5 13th hole. Discover other Myrtle Beach courses that allow kids in for free or at a discount.
Where to Play … Minigolf
If minigolf is more your family’s cup of tea, follow the fairy tale of Peter Pan as you navigate shipwrecks and sounds of cannon fire while playing a game at Captain Hook’s Adventure Golf, or go on a quest for hidden gold at the Cancun Lagoon Miniature Golf.
Alternatively, mine for gold with the kiddos at Lost Mine Miniature Golf Course, which is located across the street from Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Anderson Ocean Club. Members staying at Anderson Ocean Club or Ocean 22 by Hilton Grand Vacations Club can play this 18-hole course full twists and turns around pinwheels, mines, streams and featuring a water tower for free. Pick your complimentary pass from either resort’s concierge desk.
Where to Play … With Lovely Scenery
Travel back in time to experience Southern charm at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club. Built on a former rice plantation, this course features greens alongside the Waccamaw River and an antebellum-style clubhouse.
Where to Play ... If You’re a Scratch Golfer
Continuously rated one of the top golf courses in the area by Golf Digest, Golf Magazine and GolfWeek, the Dunes Golf & Beach Club is a classic course featuring A-1 bentgrass greens that facilitate quicker and more fluid play. The club has hosted the PGA Professional National Championship as well as six Senior PGA Tour Championships and the Women’s U.S. Open.
