Take to the Trails on National Hiking Day

Lace up your hiking boots, grab a jacket and go for a hike! November 17 is National Take a Hike Day. What does that mean? There’s no excuse not to find a trail and explore a new path with your family or fellow travelers. Club Members will find myriad trails to choose from near their vacation homes.

In Breckenridge, Colorado, for instance, try the 1.8-mile Blue Lakes trail or the nearby 3.2-mile McCullough Gulch trail, where you’ll see waterfalls that lead to an alpine lake. Both trails are rated moderately difficult. Pack a lunch, then pause in the middle of your hike for a breath of mountain fresh air during a relaxing picnic.

Across the pond in Scotland, Glencoe presents a picturesque spot to take a walk. Formed as the result of volcanic activity 420 million years ago and shaped by glaciers melting during the last ice age, Glencoe makes for a scenic day trip for Club Members staying at any of our four resorts in the country.

Whether you’re hiking in U.S. national parks—like this Club Member family—or through Canada, the pastime presents an opportunity for a journey. To learn more about where to explore by foot, enter “hiking” in the right-hand corner search box on Club Traveler’s website.
