Discover Deals: Free Sights Near Your Club

There’s no reason vacation needs to break the bank. When you’re in your home away from home, here are a few fun and free activities you and the family can enjoy near Hilton Grand Vacation Club properties.

Washington, D.C.

See the nation’s treasures and say hi to the capital’s creatures. Admission is free to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo, museums and galleries—from the National Museum of African American History to the Air and Space Museum, the Museum of Natural History and even the National Portrait Gallery. Have an animal lover in your travel crew? Discover elephants, lions, tigers and panda bears at the Smithsonian National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute.

Want something a bit more unusual? On late Sunday afternoons during the summer, head to Meridian Park to see, hear and participate in a drum circle tradition dating back nearly 50 years. Or spend the afternoon soaking in D.C.-views from the Georgetown waterfront. Bring a snack to eat as you watch your kids play in the free, fun fountain.

Denver

Did you know the U.S. Mint celebrated its 225th anniversary in April? Coin collectors can take a free tour of the U.S. Mint in Denver, where 40 million coins are produced a day. The Denver facility is also home to the second-largest gold bullion depository, with a stash of gold bars worth $100 billion.

Park City

From food photography to innovations in clay, discover the changing exhibits at the Kimball Art Center, which has been free and open to the public since Bill Kimball started the center in his garage in 1976. Additionally, each year the center offers more than 300 adult and youth visual arts classes and hosts the Park City Kimball Arts Festival, which attracts more than 55,000 patrons every August.

Las Vegas

If you’re planning a trip to Las Vegas, consider visiting at the beginning of a month to attend the city’s First Friday Art Celebration. Taking place in the downtown arts district the first Friday of each month, the event brings together more than 100 jewelry designers, mixed-media creators, painters, sculptors and other artists as well as entertainers and food vendors. Even better, admission is free.
